Determine the perceived level of involvement and factors affecting diabetes management by community pharmacy professionals at drug retails in northwestern amhara region, Ethiopia

BackgroundPharmacists in community drug retail outlets (CDROs) have significant involvement diabetes prevention and management by providing more direct interventions medication education, preventive measures, disease management. This study examined the perceived level of pharmacy professionals (CPPs) at CDROs Northwest Ethiopia.MethodsA multicenter cross-sectional was conducted among CPPs Ethiopia between September 1 30, 2022. The Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) version 26 used to analyzed data, which had been gathered using a self-administered structured questionnaire. An independent sample t-test one-way ANOVA were examine mean score difference CPPs. association CPPs’ other sociodemographic variables linear regression analysis. At 95% confidence interval (CI), p-value <0.05 considered statistically significant.ResultsThe included 184 (94.3%) 195 approached. overall 3.80 ± 0.63 out 5. with bachelor's degree or higher [β = 3.065, CI: 2.704, 3.641; p < 0.001], monthly income (≥5000 ETB) 0.242, 0.112, 0.596; 0.034], those who provided than 8 hours service per day 0.163, 0.051, 0.332; 0.043] compared their counterparts.ConclusionsThis found that most high Higher educational backgrounds, salary, working longer associated an increased involvement.
